Partho Shome to head task force on tax
reforms
New Delhi: Partho Shome, former director of the National Institute of
Public Finance and Policy, is tipped to be the chairman of the task force on tax reforms
constituted by the government.
The task force is
expected to recommend a time-bound programme of reform of tax structures, both indirect
and direct.

Coke restructures personnel
New York: Coca-Cola has restructured its staff. Jack Stahl, head of
Coca-Cola North America, has been given responsibility for the entire Americas and for the
Minute Maid juice company. Doug Daft, present president of the Middle East and Far East
group, will take responsibility for Africa and for the Schweppes beverage business. James
Chestnut, the companys chief financial officer, will assume chare of corporate
services, communications, government relations, human resources, and product liability.
Douglas Ivestor, chairman of the company, is to seek
approval of the companys board for the promotion of Gary Fayad, the companys
controller, to be promoted as chief financial officer.

Lockheed Martin
officers quit
New York: Two senior executives of
Lockheed Martin, Peter Teets, chief operating officer, and James "Micky"
Blackwell, head of the military aircraft division, have quit the company. They have owned
responsibility for the companys performance as it had issued its fourth profits
warning in less than a year.
Mr Teets says he will retire and take personal
responsibility for the performance. The military aircraft division has been the source of
many problems. Mr Blackwell is also retiring. Vince Coffman, chairman and chief executive
of the company, will assume Mr Teets' duties.
