Lalit Mansingh is new foreign secretary
New Delhi: Lalit Mansingh, Indian high commissioner in London, is the new
foreign secretary. Mr Man Singh will take over from K. Raghunath, the present incumbent,
who will be remitting office on 30 November.

New Delhi: S.V.S. Raghavan, former commerce secretary of the government
of India, will head a nine-member committee to suggest a comprehensive competition law.
The panel is expected to suggest changes in the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices
Act of 1969 and demarcate the jurisdictions of the MRTP Commission and consumer courts.

R Vijayan is SBI GM
Mumbai: R. Vijayan is the general manager
(development & personal banking) of the Mumbai circle of the State Bank of India. He
was earlier deputy general manager of the bank in Ahmedabad.
