Divestment panel chief resigns
New Delhi: G.V. Ramakrishna, Disinvestment Commission chairman, has put in his papers, but the government is yet to accept the resignation. Manohar Joshi, heavy industry and public enterprises minister, confirmed the resignation and said the letter has been forwarded to the prime minister.

"This has to be discussed," Mr Joshi said, adding the government will soon take a decision in the matter.

Ashok Lahiri resigns from IDBI
Mumbai: Ashok Lahiri, managing director of Credit Analysis and Research, has resigned from the Industrial Development Bank of India as executive director. This is in line with the Securities and Exchange Board of India's directive that promoters and rating agencies should have an arm's length relationship. The IDBI is one of the promoters of CARE. Mr Lahiri, who is to retire in February 2001, was on deputation from IDBI.

Cholamandalam AMC CEO resigns
Mumbai: Cholamandalam Cazenove AMC's chief executive officer D. Ravishankar, has resigned. Mr Ravishankar was the company's chief investment officer also. He is likely to be relieved by the end of December 1999.

The asset management company at present manages Rs 200 crore in assets.
