M.D. Shukla back at Dunlop
Calcuta: M.D. Shukla is planning to return to Dunlop India with a mandate
to get the ailing company back on the rails and restart its operations immediately. He
will be made the company's president.
Mr Shukla had
resigned as managing director in February 1997, following differences with the company's
director and promoter, Manu Chhabria. He is said to have a good rapport with the trade
unions as well as financial institutions. .

Ravi
Jain joins UB group
Bangalore: Ravi Jain, who quit Shaw Wallace & Co as managing
director, is returning to the UB group as president. Vijay Mallya, chairman of UB group,
said Mr Jain's operational responsibilities will be announced shortly. Mr Jain worked with
the UB group for 17 years before he joined Shaw Wallace & Co.
Mr Jain confirmed that he left Shaw Wallace & Co on
account of "incompatibility" between him and Mr Manu Chhabria.

to be MD of new Piramal JV
Mumbai: Mr Ashutosh Ojha has been named managing director of the new
Piramal Enterprises-BUPA joint venture company, BUPA Piramal Healthcare.
Ms Carol Knott of BUPA, on deputation, will be the joint
managing director of the company..

Chaturvedi
quits SBI MF
Mumbai: Ved Prakash Chaturvedi, chief investment officer of SBI Mutual
Fund, the second largest mutual fund in India, has resigned. An IIM-Bangalore graduate, Mr
Chaturvedi is primarily responsible for the excellent performance of SBI Mutual Fund's
schemes, six of which have appreciated 100 per cent in the last one year. He was
previously fund manager at Sun F&C Asset Management.
