L.M. Thapar is
Thai company chairman
New Delhi:
Lalit Mohan Thapar, chairman of the LM Thapar group, has
taken over as chairman of Thailand-based Phoenix Pulp and
Paper.
Mr Thapar takes over the position, which had
been occupied by George Davison, who has been removed
by a group of banks and financial institutions that have
holdings in the company. The L.M. Thapar group has 12.5
per cent equity stake in the company.

Anil
Bhatia passes away
Mumbai: Anil Bhatia, general manager
of Hindustan Thompson Associates, died following a heart
attack on 28 August. He was 45.
Mr Bhatia is credited with
leading the growth of the agency, which became a Rs 350
crore company from a mere Rs 10 crore company in 1985.
He was also associated with the establishment of a number
of new divisions of the agency like HTA Direct, Fulcrum
and HTA Interactive. He was a management graduate from
IIM Ahmedabad.
