Merrill strategist to quit
New York: Charles Clough, chief investment strategist at Merrill Lynch
and Co, has told his bosses he wants to leave at year-end. The Wall Street Journal
said Merrill and Mr Clough had told the paper that he is not being forced out. Some of Merrill's brokers have complained privately that Mr
Clough's bearish outlook had impeded their income based on selling stocks, in spite of a
booming stock market.
