Orange, the key brand of France Telecom, has acquired Unanimis, the UK digital ad agency that specialises in branded and performance display advertising, the two companies said yesterday.

However, the companies declined to disclose financial details of the deal.

Orange said the purchase  will put Orange and Unanimis at the forefront of digital and mobile advertising in the UK with unparalleled scale and reach across web, mobile and interactive media.

"We are now at a critical size to become a leading player," said Luc Tran Thang, vice president of Orange Advertising Network.

Orange said in a statement that Unanimis is the UK's largest exclusive digital advertising network with such website brands as Ticketmaster and had 21.7 million pounds in revenue at the end of its 2008 fiscal year.

Studies expect online advertising to account for 27 per cent of total advertising spending in the UK in 2011 compared with 19 per cent in 2007.
