Market update: Sensex slips 22 points; holding above 14100 news

Indices remain range bound and have slipped marginally into the red in early afternoon trades. Other Asian markets remain mixed while Europe has opened higher.

Sensex is trading lower by 22 points at 14108 at 01.10 PM.

Nifty is now trading lower by 4 points at 4074.

SAIL has corrected further after a weak opening and is the worst performer among index stocks with losses of more than 3 per cent.

OBC has lost more than 2.5 per cent while HDFC is down more than 2 per cent.

BPCL remains under pressure and has lost more than 1.5 per cent. Gail India remains weak by more than 1.5 per cent.

Jet Airways is trading with losses of nearly 1.5 per cent.

ABB is the worst performer among engineering stocks with losses of over 1.5 per cent.

Sun Pharma is down nearly 1.5 per cent and Glaxo has lost well over a per cent.

Zee Tele is the other major loser, down nearly 1.5 per cent.

HCL Tech remains the best performer with gains of 2.5 per cent. Satyam is trading 1.5 per cent higher while TCS is holding on to gains of a per cent.

M&M has gained further and is trading nearly 2 per cent higher while Bajaj Auto has added 1.5 per cent.

Suzlon Energy has gained close to 2 per cent while Siemens is holding on to gains of close to a per cent. BHEL has added nearly 1.5 per cent and L&T has gained over 0.5 per cent.

ACC is the other major gainer, trading nearly a per cent higher.

Mid-caps and small caps are holding on to gains. The NSE mid-cap index is now trading with gains of nearly 0.4 per cent. BSE mid-cap index is trading over 0.4 per cent higher and the BSE small-cap index is trading with gains of nearly 0.4 per cent. Market breadth on the NSE remains marginally positive in early afternoon trades.

Lumax Auto Tech, which got listed today, is now trading at Rs108 as against an issue price of Rs75.

XPro India, Lumax Auto, Prism Cement and GMR Industries are locked in the 10 per cent upper circuits.

Aftek Limited has soared after a firm start and is trading 16 per cent higher.

Orient Abrasives, Centurion Bank of Punjab, Accel Frontline and Bajaj Auto Finance are among the major mid-cap gainers.

Aztec Software has slipped 8 per cent after the company announced results.

Gujarat State Petronet, Tata Sponge, Hanung Toys, Sandesh, Zandu Pharma, Godavari Fert, Adhunik Metalliks and HB Stock and are the major mid-cap losers.
