Markets ends strong: M&M, Tata Steel, NTPC gain

Markets
ended the week on a strong note on account of sustained buying interest seen in
scrips across sectors. Auto, oil & gas, banking and real estate stocks outperformed.
Midcap and smallcap markets have outperformed the benchmark indices.
On the macroeconomic GDP numbers for Q1 came in strong at 9.3% and infltion came inline with market estimates of 3.94%.
Tata Steel which has been buzzing for few days as steel prices have rebounded and are expected to remain firm going ahead. This will benefit steel stocks like SAIL, JSW and Tata Steel.
Top gainers on the Sensex are Mah and Mah, NTPC, Tata Steel, Ranbaxy, Maruti Udyog and Tata Motors.
Top losers on the Sensex are HDFC Bank, Hindalco, GlaxoSmith, GAIL and ITC.
Sensex was up 196.86 points or 1.30% at 15318.60, and the Nifty up 51.70 points or 1.17% at 4464.00.
