Markets end flat: Power, capital good stocks gain


The markets ended on a flat note after a fiarly volatile session. The boader markets ended in red giving it a weak breadth. But the turnover was brisk and F&O saw the highest ever turnover of Rs 64,281 crore.

IT, capital goods and IT stocks ended higher. However, selling pressure was seen in auto, FMCG and pharma stocks.

Reliance Energy, Satyam, BHEL, BHEL, NTPC, HDFC Bank closed in green.

Sensex closed at 15,794.92 up 63 points and the Nifty closed at 4620.75 up 1.4 points.

The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,812.34 down 37 points or 0.5%.
