Market ends flat: IT, bank, FMCG, oil & gas drag

The markets ended flat after seeing a solid start as profit booking was seen during the final hour of trade. Selling pressure was seen in IT, banking, FMCG and oil & gas stocks. However, capital goods, telecom, metal and realty stocks witnessed buying interest.
But on a weekly basis Sensex saw a good close up 1.8% and the BSE Midcap was up 1%.
Tata Steel, L&T and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers on the indices.
Among the losers were ACC, Bajaj Auto, Cipla and HPCL.
The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,836.07 up 8 points or 0.12%.
