Sensex closes above 15,000 for first time ever

The markets picked up from where they had left on Friday and ended the day on an extremely strong note on anew high. The markets were trading higher throughout the day without any signs of volatilty or weakness. In terms of cues, Asia ended in green. Midcaps and smallcap stocks were trading higher outperforming the benchmark indices giving market an excellent breadth.
Sensex closed above the 15,000 mark for first time ever and Nifty closed above 4,400 mark.
Capital good stocks like L&T, IT pivotals and banking stocks hogged the limelight and were among the top gainers on the indices.
Roman Tarmat made a fantastic debut ending with a premium of 82%.
Banking stocks are trading strong Union Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank are among the rallying PSU banks.
