Market ends flat: Cement stocks shine


The markets ended flat after three days of sharp rally. In terms of cues, there was not much to take from Asia and Europe. It was quiet for frontliners and also for the midcaps and smallcaps. The turnover was good but the breadth was almost neutral more in favour of declines.

Cement stocks were the star performers of the day on the back of news that cement cos have raised prices by Rs 3-5/50kg bag across India from today.. Auto, sugar and select textiles ended higher. However, banking and IT stocks underperformed.

On the primary market, DLF will lists tomorrow although experts say it may not get listed with much of bang but will be keenly watched by the market. Vishal Retail got a bumper listing and was trading at Rs 734 up over 170%.
