Mutual funds assets up 8.68 per cent at Rs5,00,973 crore in February: AMFI

Assets under management (AUM) of 35 mutual funds in the country rose 8.68 per cent to Rs5,00,973 crore for the month ended 28 February against Rs4,60,949 crore for the month ended 31 January, as per data published by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).

Of the total 35 fund houses in the country whose data was published by AMFI, 23 saw growth in their AUMs while 12 saw fall in their AUMs.

Reliance Mutual Fund, the country's top AMC, saw a 7.17 per cent growth in its AUM at Rs81,627.1 crore in February 2009 from Rs76,168.5 crore in January. HDFC Mutual Fund, the second largest, saw a 10.59 per cent rise in its AUM while third placed ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund saw a 12.62 per cent rise in its AUM at Rs53,514.1 crore. LIC Mutual Fund saw a growth of  29.56 per cent in AUM while Reliagre Mutual Fund's AUM rose 23.99 per cent to Rs5,423.7 crore.

Benchmark Mutual Fund was the biggest loser with 22.47 per cent fall in its AUM, followed by Bharti AXA Mutual Fund with an 11.24 per cent fall in AUM.

Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund saw the biggest gain in AUM, which rose 22.47 times from Rs38 crore in January to Rs860 crore in February.
