UK-based business communications and hosted IT provider, Outsourcery today said that it has acquired the hosted IP PBX business of Reality Telecom Limited, which traded as Call Navigator IP.

Ousourcery, formerly known as Genesis Communications, was formed in 1995 to provide business mobile solutions, which enabled it to devlop partnerships with O2 and Vodafone. In 2002 the company was purchased by DSG International plc. Following a management buyout in 2007, Outsourcery acquired ServeLogic Plc and moved into the hosted IT market.

Following Outsourcery's launch of Office Communicator, based on Microsoft's Office Communication Server 2007 R2, which is the foundation for the company's unified communications strategy, the acquisition will add full IP PBX capability using the BroadWorks platform from BroadSoft.

Apart from an established customer base, the acquisition is in keeping with Outsourcery's ambition to become the leading provider of unified communications and cloud computing solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.

Customers will benefit immediately from Outsourcery's scale and expertise in unified communications and integrated hosted IT solutions, including Office Communicator, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and its StoreSafe data backup product.

Outsourcery said it would also be able to provide its customers with a full suite of mobile communications, smartphone and mobile broadband products.

''Outsourcery aims to be the market leader in the provision of hosted Unified Communications and IT solutions to SMEs and the acquisition of Reality Telecom's IP PBX business provides us with additional customers, expertise and state-of-the-art functionality which compliments our existing Office Communicator product," said Piers Linney, joint chief executive officer, Outsourcery.

Linney also said, "We aim to bring the most advanced and fully integrated offering of hosted solutions in the world to market during 2010, to cater for the growing demand from businesses wanting to embrace the power and material benefits of unified communications and cloud computing. We are really excited about this next stage in the development of the business and we look forward to working with and adding value for our new customers. ''
