Silverline sets up ''services management practice'' with Canadian firmnews
19 June 2006
Silverline Technologies Ltd has announced the launch of its infrastructure technology outsourcing (ITO) practice. According to Deloitte, the ITO market is $162 billion, which is virtually untouched by Indian companies who have focused predominantly in the areas of systems integration, application maintenance outsourcing and IT consulting.

One of the de facto standards in delivering ITO services is 'information technology infrastructure library' (ITIL,) a set of guidelines whose origin dated back around 20 years. Together with ISO-9000, SEI-CMM and Six Sigma, the ITIL framework is quickly becoming the most recognised service management approach by businesses looking to shore up their IT operations. While ITIL provides an excellent structure for businesses to model their processes on, the actual IT data and knowledge still need to be captured and maintained. This can be a daunting task: inventorying data center assets, tracking planned and unplanned changes made, and establishing and enforcing IT policies.

To jumpstart the ITO practice, the company has forged a strategic relationship with a leading Canadian firm, Millennium Care Inc. Silverline will assist Millennium Care in optimising its delivery capabilities by providing 24 x 7 x 365 services, worldwide, and also market and deliver on ITO solutions in Asia, the Middle East and Europe markets.

Millennium Care is a best practices company that has been delivering ITIL-based service management solutions for over eight years to Fortune 500 clients worldwide from 75 countries. Millennium Care is an IBM Global Solution Partner and a Microsoft Solution Partner.
