Micro Technologies launches disaster recovery product news
29 November 2005

Micro Technologies India Ltd has developed a 'global disaster disaster management system' which instantaneously intimates the happening of any natural or man made disasters. The IT product, named MICRO GBB (global black box), was launched at the 'world conference on disaster reduction', co sponsored by the UN, the World Bank and other global bodies..

Globally, natural or manmade disasters have struck suddenly, without any prior warning, affecting wide areas, destroying infrastructure, human and animal lives. In such eventualities, immediate intimation to the disaster management authorities helps reduce the impact of the disaster. To MICRO GBB could help efficiently combat such disasters.

MICRO GBB transmits messages instantly on the mobile, email, landline of the user, group of concerned users, when a disaster strikes. It captures specialised and validated information, which could be useful for search and rescue operations, early warning, remote sensing, disaster mitigation, trauma management, etc. This device can promptly warn against floods, storms, earthquakes, landslides, riots, change in temperature, intrusion, fire, gas leaks, power failures and even thefts.

MICRO GBB contains sensors - devices which detects the location, magnitude and the direction in which the disaster is headed.

The salient features of MICRO GBB include event-based instant alerts around the globe, event intimation mapping to multiple persons, command control for officials responsible for taking action, voice communication, web interface, integration with GIS, event recorder, remote activation or deactivation and customisation of commands.
