Hyderabad: Satyam Computer Services (NYSE:SAY), together with Sun Microsystems, India has launched the Satyam Customer Solution Centre based on Sun technologies at the Satyam Development Centre in Bangalore. Peter Cunningham, senior vice president, Sun Microsystems Inc, inaugurated the centre.

According to Satyam, this is the first such centre in India focussing on building, testing and delivering leading-edge solutions around hot technology paradigms. The centre will address mutually benefiting market / business opportunities and would initially focus on identity management, grid computing, voice enabled solutions and J2ME applications.

Cunningham commented, "The solution centre will go a long way in enabling our existing and prospective customers to understand and experience Sun's new technology offerings. Our customers will have the benefit of using solutions that are tested and reliable."

Speaking at the launch, T R Anand, director and senior VP, Satyam, said, "This solution centre will build, demonstrate and showcase proof-of-concepts on various Sun technologies to existing Fortune 500 and Global 2000 clients and prospects of Satyam. These PoCs will be later rolled out as service offerings based on the feedback received from them."

The state-of-the-art laboratory is deployed in about 3,000 sq ft. of floor space equipped with best-of-breed infrastructure such as the Sun Fire V250 and V240 servers, Sun Blade 150 Server, Opteron/x86 Servers, Sun Ray Thin clients and Sun Storage arrays, amongst others. Apart from the state-of-art Customer Solution Center, Satyam has made investments in developing a pool of technical personnel who have thorough knowledge and experience on Sun technologies.

The centre will also aid Satyam in building competencies and new service offerings on Sun technologies. Satyam is already a Sun iForceÔ partner and a Global Services Supplier for Sun Microsystems, with a large team of professionals dedicated to provide services around Sun platforms and solutions.
