IBM India unveils first fully loaded laptop at sub Rs.50,000 news

New Delhi: IBM India today announced the availability of its
entry level notebook, the IBM ThinkPad R40e priced at Rs. 49,990. Targeting the small and medium businesses and the home segment, the IBM ThinkPad R40e offers customers a complete mobile computing experience.

Unlike other notebooks available in the market at this price point,
the IBM ThinkPad R40e is a fully configured notebook with optimum memory, hard disk capacity, cache and ready to use the Windows operating system and a DVD ROM optical drive.

The new IBM ThinkPad R40e notebook, combined with the innovative design provides value for money; and allows mobility and flexibility at the workplace and at home. The ThinkPad R40e weighs lighter at 2.67 kg and is equipped with the latest ThinkVantage technologies, a set of software and hardware tools, available only on IBM PCs, at no additional cost. The function of these technology offerings is to help users save date, time and
money.

The new notebooks come with: Windows XP Home as operating system; a DVD ROM optical drive; 256 MB memory which means there is no need for further upgradations.
