Thiruvananthapuram:
With
the inauguration of the massive sixth industrial modules
building, Kerala Technopark is now Indias largest software
park. Technopark will now provide an additional half million
sq ft of pure technology space for Indias fastest growing
IT state Kerala.
The new building,
inaugurated by Union Minister for Information and Communication
Technology Pramod Mahajan, makes the total built-up area
in Technopark stands at 1.4 million sq ft, making it one
of Asias top three software parks.
The magnificent 4,80,000-sq ft, six- floor, centrally
air-conditioned building is specifically designed to meet
global IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) industry standards.
Inaugurating the building, Mahajan said: I am proud to
inaugurate Bhavani, which is a world class facility
the best anywhere in the world. Kerala is definitely
in the right direction to become a leading player in IT.
With aggressive marketing and a clear IT roadmap, I am
sure within three years Kerala will become a force to
reckon with.
Bhavanis 55,000-sq ft x six floors of column-free office
space houses 130 modules of ideal industrial space and
22 IT modules on each floor planned around a large landscaped
atrium. In fact, multiple level redundancies in the power
infrastructure support both the campus as well as each
individual building, and Bhavani thus has an independent
100-per cent generator backup.
The concept of
Bhavani is based on the maximisation of factors to meet
the growing demand of IT companies, such as:
- an in-built
ability to expand efficiently and in modules, and
- incorporate
facilities that provide maximum light and ventilation.
With an optic fibre
cable landing at a BSNL exchange 100 metres away and multiple
satellite earth stations on campus, the new building is
the most impressive in Technopark and Asias most uniquely
ready-to-use facility for the IT sector today.
Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony said: Technopark has
been spearheading the IT revolution in Kerala and is a
symbol of the high standards that we strive to attain.
The Bhavani building truly represents the world class
positioning that Kerala shall adopt going forward.
Kerala is Indias most IT-ready state. The increased
availability of ready to use high quality technology space
will allow Kerala to quickly harness the rush of industry
interest in the state, Kerala IT minister K Kunhalikutty.
State IT secretary
Aruna Sunderarajan, who is the chairperson of the Technopark
Project Implementation Board, added: It is significant
that Indias first software park is now Indias finest.
This building stands out in its exceptional features and
unparalleled value proposition as Rajiv Vasudevan, CEO,
Technopark, explains: Bhavani well represents Technoparks
unique enabling environment with world-class infrastructure
for global IT and ITES companies at approximately one-third
the cost that of comparable infrastructure in other cities,
making it Indias best value hi-tech environment.
Technopark represents a potent combination of state-of-the-art
infrastructure supported by an excellent work environment.
With the inauguration of the magnificent Bhavani, named
after a major river in Kerala, Technopark has now achieved
the impressive milestone of becoming Asias finest ready-to-use
facility for the IT industry.
Technopark is Indias first technology park, and is now
destined to be one of the countrys best. It is located
in Thiruvananthapuram and was set up by the Kerala government.
It is home to over 55 companies that employ nearly 6,000
professionals. These include three CMM level V, one CMM
level IV, two CMM level III and several ISO compliant
companies.
Technopark
meets the global standards of IT and ITES industry in
terms of specifications relating to usability, redundancy,
reliability and safety in its peaceful and sylvan surroundings.
Technopark provides a more than just a significant advantage
to its tenant companies, which benefit from the competitive
edge arising from low total cost of operations while leveraging
the benefits of its world-class infrastructure, telecommunication
and datacom systems.
