2G scam: PAC submits report to Lok Sabha speaker

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) headed by Murli Manohar Joshi today submitted its draft report on the 2G spectrum scam to Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar.
PAC officials handed over a copy of the controversial report to Meira Kumar and Joshi said he was hopeful that the speaker would accept the report despite all the controversies over it.
"I have submitted the report... My expectation is that the Speaker should accept it and place it in Parliament," he said at a press conference.
The term of the PAC expires today.
Eleven members belonging to the Congress, DMK, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are said to have voted down the draft at meeting on Thursday.
The 270-page PAC report on 2G scam has been criticised by members of the ruling UPA as being prejudiced against the government. They have also come down against the PAC chairman for leaking information to the media.
