Australian telco Telstra has announced a new partnership with Acer Computing to bundle three laptops with its built-in Next G wireless broadband in an all-in-one solution.

The new laptops offer consumers a straight out-of-the-box internet usage. According to Gleince Maclellan, consumer executive director, Telstra, the laptops feature a next-generation wireless broadband modem and WIFI for ease while accessing the internet at home or on the go.

She added that Telstra and Acer worked together to ensure that once a customer purchased an embedded laptop it was easy and simple to connect to the internet. With the new partnership, she said, customers can now leave a participating store with their device set-up allowing them to start surfing the internet right away.

The fact that the laptops obviate the need for a wireless USB device or an ADSL via cables is a definite plus for consumers looking for easier ways to connect to the internet.

According to Nigel Gore, general manager product division, Acer Computer Oceanic Region, being productive and connected is of great importance for the technically savvy consumer.

He added that the new partnership with Telstra would simplify the consumer process of purchasing a Notebook or a Netbook and customers wanting fast online access and mobility would gain significant value with the offer.
