Sony Ericsson CyberShot series' latest phone in the offing C510 Kate phone, successor to the K770 and a middle-level phone seems shrouded in mystery with more than one picture splashed all over the net.

However, what it will offer is less abstract. It's 2.2 inch QVGA TFT display and 3.2 megapixel camera with features like auto focus, LED flash, auto rotation, smile shutter, face detection allow you to record with clarity videos in QVGA 340 x 240 pixel resolution.

Dedicated shortcut keys for quick access such as the direct blog key promise speedy linking to even your fave blogging site. You can upload and download videos to and from YouTube while the auto rotation feature will automatically rotate the images from landscape mode to portrait mode or vice versa.

The fog that hung over leaked imges of two different Sony Ericsson handsets has lifted as they have been identified as Sony Ericsson Kate (now C510) and the Sony Ericsson Phillipa. Many tech gadget sites featured pictures of the 5 megapixel Phillipa mistaking it for Kate.

Traditionally Cyber-shots have an active lens cover and camera shortcuts that light up when you need them as does the C510.

The 120 MB built-in memory is expandable with an M2 card, while the 2.2-inch QVGA display rounds off the specs.

Release of the Sony Ericsson C510 Kate phone is expected around February but its price still remains imperious to the public eye. And since there is no word from Sony Ericsson, just keep your fingers crossed as the markets await the advent of another sleek solid featured handset.
