Cairn India reports fresh oil and gas finds in Rajasthan block

Mumbai: Cairn India has reported fresh discoveries of oil and gas in its Rajasthan block and said it has received a six-month extension for further exploration in the block''s northern region.

The discoveries were made in Kameshwari West-2 and Kameshwari West-3 wells, the company said in a press release.

The Kameshwari West-2 discovery is located 12 km north west of the 2003 Kameshwari discovery and 56 km south of the Mangala field. The well encountered 18.2 metres of net pay in the lower Dharvi Dungar formation from a gross interval of 40 m.
