DRDO transfers six technologies for commercialisation

Chennai: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully transferred six potent technologies related to fire explosive safety to private parties for commercial production.

The technologies are: development of heptafluropropane, intelligent fire sensor, multipurpose dry chemical powder for extinguishing A, B and C classes of fire to replace Halon and in the field of environment safety namely toxic heavy metals disposal process, treatment process for hazardous effluents and activated carbon spheroids (for absorption to toxic gases).

The companies to whom the technologies were transferred are: Southern Electronics, Bangalore, Quality Water Management, Chennai, Macvac Fabricators, Navi Mumbai, KV Fire Chemicals, Navi Mumbai and Hindustan Electro Graphite, Bhopal.
