Kochi: The executive committee of organisations affiliated to the Kerala Film Chamber, has decided to freeze all activities relating to production, distribution and exhibition of films from June 15, 2004, if the state government fails to act on the Memorandum submitted to it by the chamber, by then. This was announced at a press conference in Kochi, after its meeting on April 19, 2004.
Chamber president Siyad Koker warned that the members of Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), who are scheduled to take part in the month-long star show in Dubai from April 28, would face a boycott in all future film projects of the chamber.
Siyad said, ''The chamber holds that all top-ranking artistes should desist from taking part in such shows.'' Welcoming the move of AMMA members like Lalu Alex, Suresh Krishna and Thilakan, Siyad said the Chamber will co operate with any artiste who is willing to sign the new set of agreements introduced by it.
Isaac Francis of Kerala Film Exhibitors Association and Sasikumar, president of Kerala Film Distributors Association, were also present at the press meet
