Malaysia`s Airasia named Asia`s Airline of The Year

Mumbai: The Centre for Asia-Pacific Aviation (CAPA) has named Malaysian low-cost carrier Airasia Asia` as Asia''s Airline of The Year for 2007.

The award was presented by CAPA executive chairman Peter Harbison to Airasia`s group chief executive Tony Fernandes, at the fourth annual Aviation Outlook Summit.

Tourism Malaysia won the National Tourism Organisation of the Year Award.

The CAPA`s Airline Of The Year 2007 award is the highest level of recognition and honour to Airasia, Asia`s biggest and most successful budget airline, for its notable achievement in the aviation industry and outstanding contribution since its establishment in 2001.

Airasia has won several awards from CAPA in the past. It was joint winner of the airline of the year award in 2003 and the Asia Pacific Low Cost Airline Of The Year 2004.
