Spain offers Madrid as European hub for Kingfisher
02 November 2007New Delhi: Spain and Indian private airline, Kingfisher Airlines, are in advanced talks aimed at making Madrid the carrier''s European hub for onward flights to the US and South American destinations, a government official said Thursday.
"We are in advanced talks with Kingfisher and hope to see progress," Enrique Ruiz e Lera, director of the Spain Tourism Board for India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, has been quoted by the media as saying.
also revealed that previously an attempt had been made with Jet Airways as well,
but Madrid lost out to Brussels in that case. He said that he hoped for better
luck with Kingfisher this time around.
