Revolt to launch India's first electric motorcycle tomorrow

Indian startup Revolt Intellicorp is all set to launch its first electric motorcycle in the country tomorrow. The motorcycle comes with an ARAI-certified range of 156km and will feature swappable batteries.

Founded by Micromax CEO Rahul Sharma, the company has an R&D centre and a production plant in Manesar.
Revolt claims its AI-based features will help in optimising the battery performance based on one's riding style. The claimed top-speed stands at 85 kmph. Other features include 4G connectivity with Over The Air (OTA) updates.
The bilke is expected to come with inverted fork, rear monoshock and disc brakes at both ends.
Revolt plans to set up dedicated charging stations as well. The motorcycle will be launched in Delhi first, followed by other major cities.
Since Revolt’s upcoming model has a local content of over 75 per cent, the bike will be eligible for FAME II subsidy. The company plans to fully localise the bike by end of next year. “We expect the upcoming motorcycle to cost Rs 1 lakh (on-road).”
Interestingly, Revolt has added exhaust sound bites to attract the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts who are distracted by electric bikes that lacks an exhaust note. Revolt is reported to have found a solution to this with customisable artificial exhaust notes.
The Revolt electric motorcycle will come with a mobile application that will allow the user to choose an exhaust note of his or her preference. The sound will vary based on the speed of the motorcycle and the load the motor is under.
Revolt will be India’s first AI-enabled, LTE-connected electric motorcycle and it will run a 4G SIM to enable these functions. The Revolt’s motor and batteries will be imported, while the Battery Management System (BMS) and the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) are in-house designs.
Besides the top speed that is limited to 85 kmph and an ARAI_certified range of 156 km, it will also have a battery swap system.
Revolt features a compact design, complex swingarm setup, bolt-on subframe, USD fork, monoshock and front disc brake. The bike will also have LED lighting all around.
