Garware Motors to launch twin-engine superbikes

Garware Motors Ltd is planning to launch more superbikes from Korea's Hyosung group, including a twin-engine 250cc bike and a range of electric bikes.

The Ramesh B Garware group company, which introduced three super bikes in India in partnership with Hyosung manufacturer S&T Motors, this year, is currently at an advanced stage of homologating a twin-engine-powered 250cc bike from the Hyosung stable, to be launched next year, S P Raykar, director of Garware Motors Limited, said.

The Hyosung brand of bikes, known globally for its superbike range, would be first to introduce a twin-engine 250 cc engine powered bike, according to Raykar.

The ''luxury on wheels'' will be priced around Rs2.25 lakh, Raykar said, adding, that the twin-engine bike is expected to generate excitement among young discerning bikers.

The Rs5,000-crore Garware group has a long history of car imports, dating back to the 1930s and 40s and the superbike business is an extension of its passion for vehicles, said Raykar.

''We are planning to take this association forward and are evaluating the option of launch of electric bikes from Hyosung stable,'' he added.
