Two-wheeler sales continued to rise in February

Sales of two-wheeler companies continued to be buoyant through February with Hero Honda Motors, TVS Motor and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India logging strong growth for the month as against the corresponding period of 2010.
Hero Honda Motors yesterday reported over 23-per cent increase in its February sales, which stood at 472,055 units against 382,096 units in the corresponding month last year.
According to the company's vice president for marketing and sales, Anil Dua, the performance throughout the fiscal had been very consistent and the strong February numbers were a positive indication for the growth to continue.
For Hero Honda it was also the 10th consecutive month of the company selling over 4 lakh units.
The company added that the company's cumulative sales in the current fiscal year so far were up by almost 17 per cent at 48,86,592 units as against the performance of last year when it sold 41,85,492 units.
Regarding the company's scooter business, Dua said its Pleasure brand continued to grow with sales of 30,000 units a month.
