Kochi: The All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) has decided to boycott
cheques issued by the Thrissur based Dhanalakshmi Bank, in protest against, what it says, is the banks anti-labour policy towards its officers.

The confederation’s secretary in Kerala, V K Prasad, told media persons here that AIBOC had also decided to support the ongoing agitation of the Dhanalakshmi Bank Officers Organisation. The confederation says that the Dhanlakshmi Bank's recent move to reduce the retirement age of officers from 60 to 58 was highly discriminatory, and was aimed at destabilizing this old private sector bank. The confederation also wants the management to retain the bank's headquarters at Thrissur.

AIBOC national vice president P V Mathew and the state vice president were also present at the media conference.
