Indirect tax collections from April - July up 10.5 per cent news

Indirect taxes collections from customs and excise levies in the first five months of the current fiscal rose to Rs93,860 crore, up 10.5 per cent from the same period last year the finance ministry said in a statement today.

Customs duties during the five-month period were Rs 47,740 crore, 18 per cent more than a year earlier. It collected Rs 46,120 crore from excise duties, or 3.7 per cent more.
