Retail prices of food commodities show mixed trend news

Retail prices of farm commodities monitored by the department of consumer affairs at different locations have generally remained steady or shown mixed trend over the week ending June 27 2008.

During the week ending 27  June 2008 prices of wheat remained steady at all reporting centers except an increase at Bhopal.

Prices of sugar remained steady at all the reporting centers except for an increase at Shimla and Mumbai.

Prices of gram dal remained steady at all the reporting centers except for an increase at Mumbai, Agartala and Bangalore and decreased at Delhi.

Prices of tur dal remained steady at all reporting centers except for an increase at Delhi, Agartala, Bhubaneshwar and Hyderabad and decreased at Bangalore.

In Delhi, price of wheat, atta and mustard oil, milk and salt held steady for one week. Price of sugar held steady for one year.

Prices of rice increased from Rs19 to Rs20 per kg, tur dal from Rs42 to Rs43 per kg, vansapati from Rs73 to Rs74 per kg, tea from Rs120 to Rs121 kg and onion from Rs9 kg. to Rs10 kg. Price of gram dal decreased from Rs35 to Rs34.50 per kg., groundnut oil from Rs123 to Rs122 per kg. and potato from Rs. 9.50 to Rs. 9 per kg.
