Finance ministry clears 20 FDI proposals news

Finance minister P Chidambaram today approved 20 foreign direct investment proposals recommended by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) in its meeting held on 28th March, 2008.

The approval amounts to Rs1,962.05 crore.  The proposals come under the purview of the ministries/Departments, namely Commerce, heavy industry, industrial policy and promotion, information and  broadcasting, telecommunications and economic affairs. 

The major investment proposals are under the ministries of information and broadcasting, and economic affairs and the department of telecommunications.

The details of the proposals approved are as follows:
