Ma Foi survey sees a million new jobs in India in 2008 news

Mumbai: The organised sector in the country is expected to create an additional one million jobs in 2008, according to the Ma Foi Employment Trends survey.

The survey, based on the employment scenario of 22 different sectors as of December 2007, predicts a three per cent growth in employment for 2008 in the organised component of these sectors.
 
The Ma Foi Employment Survey, the largest comprehensive study on employment trends and opportunities in the organised sector in the country, said the hospitality sector would generate the maximum number of employment in 2008.

About 4.27 lakh jobs are going to be generated by in this sector, the survey found.

This sector is closely followed by health with 2.95 lakh. The education sector, including training and consultancy, is expected to add 1.66 lakh employees.

The survey found that manufacturing sectors of food products and beverages, furniture, mineral and metal products and mining would witness a constraint in hiring this year. 
 
The hospitality, health and education sectors are likely to replace the IT/ITeS sector as leading job creators in the country, which will have over a million new work opportunities in 2008, a survey revealed.

India will add 1.03 million jobs in 2008, according to the survey conducted across 2006 units covering all major industry segments across the country.

Ma Foi is the largest human resource service provider and staffing company in India. It has been conducting the employment survey since 2004.
