Mumbai:
India will buy around 350 T-90S main battle tanks
(MBT) from Russia under a deal to be inked in autumn this
year, a top military official said.
"The
contract for their delivery will be signed in autumn this
year, although it was initially to be signed this month,"
ITAR-TASS quoted chief of the Russian defence ministry''s
mechanised armoured department, Colonel-General Vladislav
Polonsky as saying.
India
will now have two divisions fully equipped with latest
Russian T-90 tanks and the new deal would also be completed
within 3-4 years, General Polonsky said.
