New Delhi: The Board of Approvals today gave final approval to 15 special economic zones (SEZs) even as it deferred a decision on the Navi Mumbai SEZ promoted by Reliance Industries.

The board had taken up 23 cases for final clearance, which had already received in-principle approval. The decision on the Navi Mumbai SEZ was deferred due to opposition to land acquisition from local farmers.

Apart from Navi Mumbai, a decision on the Suzlon SEZ was also deferred.
