Australia can strengthen Rajasthan''s traditional businessesnews

Jaipur: Australia can help provide competitive strengths to Rajasthan's traditional business like agro-food industry, mining, and gems and jewellery Australian trade commissioner Mike Moignard said at a CII trade session in Jaipur.

Moignard said that since Australia was a global leader in the mineral industry and technology, it could offer cutting edge technology and expertise for the mining and marble industry in Rajasthan.

Australian know-how in the agriculture sector, covering areas like crop productivity improvement, yield improvement, processing technology, dry land farming, irrigation, water and soil management, livestock management, dairy technology and processing could benefit businesses in Rajasthan via partnership and joint ventures, he said.

Australia's total trade with India stands at $8.6 billion, while export to India was $7.4 billion, with imports being around $1.2 billion.
