Indian business owners the world''s most confident: Grant Thorntonnews

Indian businessmen are the most confident in the world, reveals a Grant Thornton global survey on the confidence levels of global businessmen on the future prospects of their economis. This is the fourth year in a row that Indians have topped the confidence list.

"For the fourth consecutive year, Indian business owners are the most optimistic among over 7,000 others in 32 countries," says Vishesh Chandiok, partner and director, international business, Grant Thornton India. "It is a remarkable jump in confidence over the Indian economy among Indian business owners," he adds.

Besides a higher level of confidence in the overall economy, Indian businessmen are most optimistic globally about growth of their business turnover as well, reveals Grant Thornton International's latest International Business Report (IBR) survey.

Equally, other Asian business owners continue to be the most confident in the world with India, Philippines, China and Singapore, claiming the top four positions in the survey.

The initial findings from the International Business Report (IBR) from Grant Thornton International published showed that medium to large privately held businesses around the world are considerably more optimistic about the prospects of their economies in 2007.
