Government sets up sixth pay commission news

Mumbai: The centre has set up a four-member sixth pay commission which will recommend revision of wages for nearly 33 lakh central government employees.

The commission, headed by Justice B N Srikrishna, will be based in New Delhi. The other members of the commission are Ravindra Dholakia, J S Mathur and Sushama Nath (member-secretary).

The commission will submit its report within 18 months, a notification issued by the department of expenditure of the ministry of finance said.
