Global Malayalee Convention in Kochi news

Kochi: The fourth Global Malayalee Convention-2002 (Malayalee Sangamam), organised by the Union of German Malayalee Associations (UGMA), will start here on 17 August 2002.

UGMA president Abraham John says over 500 delegates from various countries will participate in the two-day meet. The convention, to be held at Ernakulam Avenue Convention Centre, will be inaugurated by Kerala Information Minister M M Hassan.

The convention will be marked by a session on the states development. Among the other programmes planned during the course of the convention include seminars on new economic projects, media and tourism.

Several experts in these fields are expected to attend the seminar. Besides that, a free medical camp and an exhibition will also be organised, says John. The concluding session of the convention will be held in Germany from 4 to 6 October 2002.
