The ships carry a new-generation of artillery, comprising an A19O-E,caliber  100  mm,  one-barrel gun, which is the quickest-firing gun used by navies anywhere.  With a two-side ammunition feed system, it fires 8 shots per minute with an effective range of 20 kilometres.

The frigate also has a Shtil-1, multi-channel, anti-aircraft medium-range missile system, a Kashtan anti-aircraft missile system, eight Igla portable anti-aircraft missiles, two double-tube DTA-53-11356 torpedo launchers and an RBU-6000 anti-submarine mortar.

The frigate can accommodate a Kamov Ka-28, or a Ka-31 helicopter.
