Pak violates ceasefire again, targets forward posts in J&K

Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing on several forward posts in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir overnight, in yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement on the line of control (LoC).

Army troops guarding the LoC took positions and retaliated effectively resulting in exchange of firing, which was still going on when last reports came in, the spokesperson said.

Pakistani rangers resorted to firing of mortar bombs on border outposts along the international border in Jammu district, a BSF spokesman said, adding, there has been no loss of life so far .

"Pakistan Rangers resorted to firing of two mortar bombs on BoPs along the IB in R S Pura sector around 10.40 PM last night," a senior BSF officer had said earlier in the day.

Pakistani forces targeted Krishnagati and Mandi sectors in Poonch and Balakote in Rajouri and Pallanwala in Jammu, defences sources said.

Pakistani rangers had last night resorted to firing mortar bombs on border outposts along the International Border in Jammu district.

"Pakistan Rangers resorted to firing of two mortar bombs on BoPs along the IB in R S Pura sector around 10.40 PM last night," a senior BSF officer had said earlier in the day.

Pakistani rangers had fired mortar bombs on forward positions on the Jammu border on Saturday night as well. BSF troops guarding the borderline, however, observed calm by not retaliating to Saturday's ceasefire violation, sources added.
