Tata Motors has reported total volume sales of 56,406 units for the month of March 2006 as compared to 44,432 units during March 2005. As compared to the February 2006 figure of 45,114 units, sales have increased 25 per cent.

The company sold 4,666 units of the Indigo sedan and estate models during the month. Sales of SUV and UV models Safari and Sumo were at 4,954 units, an increase of 14.8 per cent from March 2005.

Growth in commercial vehicle sales for Tata Motors continues to be strong in March as well. The company sold a total of 27,289 units in the domestic market during the month, an increase of 33.29 per cent from March 2005. Monthly sales of commercial vehicles are higher by 19.24 per cent when compared to February 2006.
