Powergrid invites bid for supply of hardware for Biswanath Chariyali-Agra line

Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd (Powergrid) has invited bids from eligible bidders from member countries of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for procurement of hardware fitting and accessories packages for its 800 kV HVDC Biswanath Chariyali-Agra line associated with north-east - northern/western interconnector-I project.

Sealed bids for the "H2A & H2B and Spacer Damper and Rigid Spacer Package - S2 for ± 800kV HVDC bipole Biswanath Chariyali-Agra line associated with North East - Northern/Western Interconnector-I Project," should reach the office of Powergrid Corporation of India latest by 11:00 hours (IST) on 28 July 2009, a company release said.

The scope of work include supply of hardware fittings and accessories and spacer damper and rigid spacer on final destination at site basis - designed, manufactured, tested and supplied complete in all respects, including all components, fittings and accessories which are necessary or are usual for their efficient performance and satisfactory maintenance under the various operating and atmospheric conditions.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's single-stage: two-envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, Powergrid said in a release.
