The new airport lounge has been designed by the prominent architecture and design firm SOM and has room for 18 first class and 59 premiere passengers. The main challenge for the designers was to maximise the lounge surface, some 522m2 and create a sense of space.
The outside walls in Italian natural stone and striking atmosphere lighting, on the way in to a spacious reception hall that divides the open lounge into two large sections: one for first class passengers and a larger section for premiere travellers.
The illumination and the space in combination with the soothing shades of beige and grey, the natural materials used and the leather design furniture create a luxurious and cosmopolitan loft feeling, carefully chosen details reflect a subtle hint of modern India.
Passengers wishing to rest can lounge in one of the many comfortable Italian leather design chairs. Entertainment zones have been installed in three different locations in the lounge with large Pioneer flat screen televisions and Bose headphones allowing the user to view and listen to programmes of his choice undisturbed.
