Idea Cellular includes 50 more cell sites to its Delhi network

New Delhi: Idea Cellular Ltd, India’s premier cellular services provider, today announced the addition of 50 cell sites to its 300-strong cell site network in its flagship Delhi circle.

With this, the total number of Idea Cellular cell sites in Delhi and NCR has gone to 350. The addition in the cell sites forms part of Idea Cellular’s ambitious network expansion plan and is a result of the company’s commitment to provide enhanced coverage experience to its customers.

Says Idea Cellular chief executive officer Vikram Mehmi: “Idea is committed to continuously enhancing the consumer experience by giving them improved coverage.”

Idea is Delhi’s only ‘congestion-free’ network and this has been made possible by scientific network planning as opposed to the usual practice of scaling the network in patches.

In the next phase of network expansion, Idea Cellular will add another 50 cell sites in ‘high-growth residential clusters’ of Delhi and NCR to be able to offer customers an even better coverage experience.

Idea Cellular, formerly Birla Tata AT&T Ltd, is India’s premier and fastest-growing cellular company, promoted by the country’s largest business houses — the Aditya Birla Group and the Tata Group — and the world’s largest telecom giant, AT&T Wireless, USA.
