iGate sets up centre of excellence at Bangalore

Mumbai: iGate Global Solutions Ltd has set up an independent verification and validation (IV&V) center of excellence (COE) at its software development facility at Whitefield, Bangalore.

"The independent verification and validation center of excellence in Bangalore is in line with our strategy of creating a chain of COE's, in chosen areas across our software development centers. This focused approach enhances the breadth and depth of our service offerings and also enables us to quickly scale delivery operations," said Mohan Sekhar, chief delivery officer and a director of the company.

The IV&V COE will create solutions and frameworks, which can be leveraged by iGate's diverse range of Fortune 1000 clients. The COE will focus on test process consulting, test automation, performance testing and functional testing services for enterprises and product companies, the company said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"IV&V services are the need of the hour to ensure predictability in cost, quality and time attributes of IT projects. Our IV&V COE has built innovative methodologies and 'ready-to-use' frameworks which enable us to provide high quality and cost-effective solutions covering entire lifecycle of test engineering activities." said Manjunatha Hebbar, associate vice president and head of IV&V services of the company.

"Currently we are witnessing a trend in this space wherein clients are asking for end-to-end test solutions, starting from test architecture definition to execution, including carrying out testing activities. With increased awareness of the importance of testing, need for centralisation and standardisation within organisations, growth in number of releases, and pressure on time to market, the outlook appears positive," said Mohan Sekhar.
