Honeywell-Nobel to bring leading scientists into world's classrooms

Called Honeywell-Nobel Initiative, it will enable students worldwide to learn directly from Nobel Laureates in chemistry and physics by combining live on-campus events, interactive content and broadcast programming.

The Honeywell-Nobel Initiative is part of the $30-billion Honeywell's science education initiative, an effort designed to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists beginning with students and teachers at middle schools and extending to targeted universities around the world.

The Nobel Foundation is a private institution established in 1900 based on the will of Alfred Nobel and manages the assets made available through the will for awarding of the Nobel Prize in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace.

Honeywell International is a diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials.

"We are very happy for this great and promising partnership with Honeywell, which will give us further opportunities to develop the Nobel Prize series programming and by broadcasting these programmes globally, help encourage young people to feel inspired by science" said Camilla Hyltén-Cavallius, chief executive officer, Nobel Media AB.

The work will be carried out through Nobel Media AB and Nobel Web AB, the subsidiaries of the Nobel Foundation Rights Association and Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the philanthropic arm of Honeywell. As part of the Initiative, Honeywell will become a global sponsor of Nobel Media''s Nobel Prize Series and Nobel Web''s educational section on Nobelprize.org.
